Customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region will soon be able to purchase prepaid credit in the comfort of their homes and at any time of day.
The revelation which was made by the Western Regional Public Relations Officer for the Electricity Company of Ghana, Mr. Philip Osei Bonsu, is part of measures being rolled out by the company to ease the stress of its customers who are using their prepaid meters.
The service, he said is also in line with efforts by the company to modernize its operations and stay in tune with current trends.
Overtime, ECG prepaid customers in the country have lamented the hassle involved in buying prepaid credit, especially in the case of one’s credit getting exhausted at an odd hour.
In an interview with Spice News Desk, Mr. Osei Bonsu indicated that the service which is currently being piloted in Accra, will soon be accessible to customers of the ECG here in the Western Region early next year.
According to Mr. Osei Bonsu, apart from customers avoiding all the long queues they face in their quest to purchase prepaid credit, the mobile App will also afford them the opportunity to monitor their electricity consumption.
