Wilson Arthur owned Skyy Football Club beat Bismark owned Bis Paradise Football Club on penalties to advance to the final of the Western Region Middle League.
The two sides walked to the Sekondi Sports Stadium pitch without dropping a point in their opening two games in the group stage. Skyy FC had the most goals in the prelims, winning 4:2 and 2;0 against Adjoafoaman and Junior Neff, their opponent, Bis Paradise won by a goal to nil in both games against Achiesu United and Enchi All Stars.
The earlier controversies surrounding the game created a wealthy semifinal attended by both teams huge fan base.
The team that had the best start to the game were Skyy FC, a quick counterattack from the right flank saw them free and with Bis Paradise’s Kelvin Missah out of his lines, opportunity it was for Skyy to go up by a goal as they registered the game’s first after 30 minutes.
Skyy FC built on the lead and nearly added the cushioning as Kelvin Missah this time stretched full length to get a hand to the ball.
Bis returned stronger in the second half and got the much needed equaliser via a Raymond Akabagre’s header – the central midfielder undoubtedly had been the brightest spot in the side’s play.
With the game settled at one all after 90 minutes. Skyy had the better penalty kickers, with three out of five kicks easily finding home to their opponent’s two.
Skyy FC now make a final against Insha Allahu FC on Sunday, 3:00PM at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
