Sefwi All Stars scored two second half goals to round up a 2:1 victory against Tanoe Akuba to open up group A of the ongoing Western Region Middle League.

Moses Quarm of Tanoe Akuba crowned a brilliant display in the first half, rounding the goalkeeper up and placing it beautifully for the game’s first goal with just two minute played.

The side that won yesterday’s Group A opener against Sammin FC continued the search for the cushioning, but failed to make the net dance as both teams entered the locker room with a 1;0 score line.

The second half was one for the team from Sefwi – All Stars dominated from the onset and claim the goal that ensured the parity on the 68th minute mark via Francis Awah.

Tanoe Akubah’s center back Bright Kwameche was shown the exit after a hard tackle which denied Sewfi All Stars their second after Gabriel Opoku went pass two defenders to come face to face with the goal keeper.

Sewfi All Star’s took charge of the game, this time boxing the midfield action and pushing Tanoe Akubah to their own half; the game was leveled midway and the side with less men on the field had a couple of chances, but the second was the one which neared a goal.

Shirt number 11, Braimah Adamah found himself free in the penalty box. Just about kicking the ball to the yawning goalpost, the center forward was fouled and the referee had less to do than to whistle for a penalty.

Gabriel Opoku took charge and made no mistake ensuring the side’s second. With just a minute of additional time left, Sewfi All Stars protected the lead to ensure their 2;1 lead stood.

The victory for Sewfi All Stars means group A will go down the wire – Sewfi All Stars lead group A with 3 points and a goal, Tanoe Akubah after losing today’s game have 3 points and no goal and last on the log Sammin FC are with no point and a minus one goal.

Sammin FC will play Sewfi All Stars tomorrow, the last group A encounter.
