WAFU Camp 2017: Maxwell Konadu “Yes, but there are other good players out there in the GHPL.”

Coach of Black Stars B, Maxwell Konadu, believes he has selected the best 18 players from the Ghana Premier League for the 2017 West Africa Football Union tournament including a round up of injuries at camp.

The host team, Ghana, had it’s final training section at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on Friday and after the training, head coach Maxwell Konadu gave a brief description of the injury situation in camp also tried to defend his team.

Midfielder, Seidu Salifu, has been confirmed as the latest player to join the Black Stars B injury list with just a day to the start of the tournament. Aduana Star’s Zacharia Mumuni and Daniel Darkwa left camp due to knocks.

The former Wa All Stars attacking midfielder, who earned a surprise call up despite being unattached has been part of the team for almost the entire camping process, but was confirmed by head coach, Maxwell Konadu, as the latest player to join the injury list.

“Seidu Salifu got hurt and has to leave camp, for us, it’s such a big blow and we have to deal with it.” – Coach Maxwell Konadu revealed.

As to whether Ghana has the best 18 players for the tournament, coach Maxwell Konadu responded – “We can say yes, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other good players out there.”
