Youth and residents of Apowa community in the Ahanta-West District together with their Assembly Member have hinted of a possible demonstration in the next few days concerning a deplorable 2 kilometer road in the community.
Speaking to Spicefmonline, residents stated that, politicians in the Western Region do not care about the plight of people who voted them into power.
They further bemoaned that the Western Regional minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere-Darko Mensah and the Member of Parliament for Ahanta-West Constituency, Hon. Kojo Kum, past and current governments have neglected the road which have stalled economic activities in the area.
Other residents expressed their bitterness on the fact the western regional minister and the member of parliament only offer lip service.
“If nothing is better is being done on the Apowa road before 23rd October 2019, then we have nothing than to embark on hard track demonstration”, they added.
They revealed the intended demonstration to Spicefmonline when a private cement manufacturing company, Western Diamond Cement Limited responded to an immediate call by Hon. Nicholas Nyarko, the Assembly Member for Apowa Electoral Area to give a face lift to the road and make the surface motorable for road users.
