Accra Hearts of Oak have started negotiations with Thomas Abbey over a possible one year contract which will keep the attacker tied till January 2019 according to footballmadeinghana.com.
Thomas Abbey secured floating status from the Ghana Football Association Status Committee which means the attacker is eligible to join any other club, but purported negotiations with South African duo, Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City Football Club fell through.
Abbey started preseason training with Accra Hearts of Oak on Monday, January 8. He’s in good condition to join the team for their Cape Coast trip to play Medeama in their second GHALCA-8 game.
He scored 13 goals for Hearts last season, finishing as the third highest scorer in the Ghana Premier League.
Pundits say, he will be a very good addition to the Phobian setup in the 2017/18 season as he was last season if the Hearts Management are able to tie him down.
