Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak were drawn apart in the MTN FA Cup Semifinals, fueling the possibility of another Super Clash before the season’s curtain is lowered.
The ceremony held at 11:30AM on Tuesday, August 22, saw; Accra Hearts of Oak drawn against Wa All Stars – Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the side, closest to the semifinals venue, Lane Clay Sports Stadium, drawn against Medeama SC with games scheduled for September 30 and October 1 respectively.
The semifinal fixtures are schedule to be played on September 30 and October 1 – the final showdown also comes off on October 29 at the Tamale Sports Stadium – last game of the 2016-17 Football calendar.
Tamale Sports Stadium is the venue to host the 2016-17 MTN FA Cup Final – organisers confirmed at a ceremony held at MPLAZA Hotel, Accra.
Wa All Stars is the only side among the semifinals teams yet to win the tournament.
Game 1: WA All Stars vs Hearts – Sept. 30
Game 2: Kotoko vs Medeama – Oct. 1
The winner of the 2017 FA Cup will be giving GHC50, 000 and the runners up will receive GHC15, 000.
However, the club that will represent Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup will also be giving GHC100, 000 for adequate preparation.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October 2017 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Each of the 4 teams will receive GHC7, 000 each plus GHC1, 000 air time.
The final will be hosted at the Tamale Sports Stadium on October 29, 2017 as the last game before closing down on the 2016-17 season’s curtains.
