Chairman of the Cattle, Sheep and Goats Sellers Association of Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr. Mohammed Akobila has disclosed to Spice FM reporter, Ebenezer Berfi they have asked the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly to intervene and help them secure a market for them since the only land on which they trade on belongs to a private investor and their rent charges is kicking them out of business.
Though the revenue collectors from the assembly comes regularly for their taxes, they say, they have failed to address such a press need for them.
Christmas is around the corner and business is not booming since the price of animals has gone up as they travel to the Northern Region and other parts of the country to buy the animals before bringing them to Sunyani to sell.
According to the association, the land owner is now taking his property and efforts to reach authorities at the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly to salvage the situation has all not materialised.
