New Takoradi residents say theywill not jubilate because the Member of Parliament for Takoradi Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah has announced that rehabilitation works on the new Takoradi road will commence earlier than expected.
They say, it will not be the first time such pronouncement on the road has been made especially from a politician.
The residents stated they remember vividly that during the campaign launch of the 2016 Takoradi NDC Parliamentary Candidate Alfred Ekow Gyan, then deputy roads minister Isaac Adjei Mensah promised that the road will be done two weeks from the launch but that never happened.
Member of Parliament for Takoradi constituency Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah in an interview with Spice News desk revealed that rehabilitation works on the road will start on December 1.
But the residents are not enthused in the least stressing they will want to see work vigorously ongoing before they will take any word serious.
Spokesperson for the New Takoradi Students Union, Osmond Okyere confirmed to Spice News desk this morning that he has seen documents that suggest that what the Takoradi MP is saying is true.
According to him, he saw the documents at a meeting with the Director – General of Ghana Ports, Paul Ansah Asare.
