The Assembly Member for Ofoase-Kokoben in the Bekwai municipality in the Ashanti region Effah Micheal has renewed calls on the Ghana Police Service to establish a permanent police station in the area.

According to him, the absence of a police station in the wake of recently reported cases of armed robbery across the region is a source of worry to his electoral area and the safety of lives and properties is at stake.

Micheal who was speaking to Takoradi based Spice 91.9 FM described the electoral area as one of the biggest in the Bekwai constituency in the whole of the Ashanti Region but it’s been abounded by successive Municipal Chief Executives.

Ofoase-Kokoben, he said lacks befitting health post, good roads, portable drinking water and as for education infrastructures, the least said about it the better.

The assembly member is however advocating for the formation of a community watchdog committee to champion the security of his electoral area.

He however urged all the people in his electoral area to bury their political differences and join forces with the government of the day and development partners to uplift the area’s lost glories.
