Equipment officer of Ghana Premier League side, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been confirmed dead following the club’s fatal accident on the Nkawkaw – Kumasi road after their game against Inter Allies.

Kotoko’s team bus reportedly ran into a truck packed on the shoulders of the road, injuring several of the players. The equipment officer whose name has been given as Mr. George Asare has however been confirmed dead.

Members of the technical team including head coach Steve Pollack and his assistant Godwin also sustained injuries. The two are currently receiving treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Hospital to after been transferred from the Holy Family hospital.

Other players including skipper Amos Frimpong, striker Saddick Adams who joined midway through the season and Baba Mahama have all sustained varying injuries.
