Hamidu Baba of Shama Senior High School has reduced Idrisu Musah’s 100m record by 0.05sec to set a new record of 10.47secs in the Sekondi-Takoradi Zonal Inter Schools and Colleges competition.
Adiembra Senior High School’s Idrissu Musah’s 10.52secs which has stood for 3 years was today run down by Hamidu Baba in an impressive showing which got the entire spectators at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on their feet.
Hamidu Baba was in his full spirit, announced himself via the heats of his sheer determination to leave a mark. He tipped off rather impressively to record the 10.47secs record shuttering the old by 0.05sec.
The first year visual art student adds to the potential 100m upcoming athletes the country can count on in the near future.
Augustine Sam of Adiembra Senior High School came second with a time of 10.87secs and Desmond Nelson of Fijai Senior High School came second with a time of 10.89secs.
