Kumasi Asante Kotoko players are being assured of an active insurance package by Hollard Insurance Company following the club’s fatal accident that took life of Equipment officer Mr. Thomas Kofi Asare.
The Porcupine Warriors after going down 1:0 to Inter Allies on match day 22 were involved in an accident on the Kumasi- Nkawkaw road at 9:45PM, the club’s bus ran into a truck parked in the shoulders of the road.
Mr. Thomas Kofi Asare, the team’s equipment officer died on the spot, whiles coach Steve Pollack, team manager Gordon Ablordey and many players including former Techiman City midfielder Baba Mahama and former Accra Hearts of Oak winger Ollenu Ashitey suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies.
After today’s check-ups at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by the club’s playing body, the club confirmed on it’s twitter handle that the playing body’s insurance package has been activated by Hollard Insurance Company.
