Former General Manager of Asante Kotoko, Opoku Nti has called on the organizers of the MTN FA Cup to appoint foreign officials to officiate the much anticipated final between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Organisers of the tournament held a meeting with the the supporters executives of Accra Hearts of Oak yesterday and came up with an agreement that they can’t afford foreign referees to officiate the cup final after the supporters called for foreign referees.
Opoku Nti in an interview stated that he believes the match is the most difficult game between the two sides in recent times because of what is at stake and might send one of them to represent the country on the continental stage and for that matter bringing foreign won’t be bad.
“I believe this match will stand out as one of the most difficult games between the two sides in recent time because of what’s at stake. Their positions on the league table indicate that the trophy has eluded them, hence they’ll put their all to carry the day especially knowing fully well that alone will provide the route to competing in Africa.”
Opoku Nti was sacked as the Chief Executive Officer for Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2015 after the club went the entire season without a trophy.
