The famous UEFA Champions League anthem will be heard once again as the 2017-18 UEFA Women’s Champions League tournament begins tomorrow, August 22, with 40 teams battling for tickets to join the 21 teams that have already received a bye to the round of 32.
Ghana’s duo Faustina Ampah and Ernestina Abambila who played in the 2016 FIFA World Cup at Papua New Guinea for the Black Princesses (Ghana’s Under 20), will take to the field as the tournament kick-starts tomorrow.
The two will feature for Belarusian side, ZFK Minsk, in group 6 of the prelims, with FC Zurich Frauen from Switzerland, Birkirkara from Malta and Olimpija Ljublijana from Slovenia make up the rest of the group.
Olimpija Ljublijana will host the other three clubs in Slovenia.

Faustina Ampah, after signing early February for the Belarusian side, from Ghana’s lower tier team – Blessed Ladies, was joined by fellow Black Princesses team mate – Ernestina Abambila who joined late July.
