FA Cup 1/8 Draw: Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak draw lower tier sides

The quarter final draw of the 2016-17 season FA Cup saw Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Medeama Sporting Club drawing lower tier sides, but two premier league clubs Wa All Stars and Berekum Chelsea will lock horns in front of fans at the Wa Malik Jabir’s Park.

Games in the round of 8 are scheduled to be played on 29th and 30th July 2017.

At the Tarkwa and Aboso Park 2014-15 champions Medeama SC who went pass Elmina Sharks to arrive at the quarter final stage will be hosting Amidaus Professionals who ousted Ghana Premier League leaders WAFA at the round of 16 stage.

Accra Hearts of Oak happen to have a taste for division one sides, after beating Sporting Mirren 2:1, Kotoku Royals 4:0 and Young Wise 1:0, the most coveted club in the competition will be hosting Danbort FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Danbort FC were winners over Liberty Professionals at the round of 16 stage, 10:11 it ended in spot kicks.

Southern Zone

In the Northern Zone, Nea Salamina will be traveling to face Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium, the Porcupine’s second home game in this season’s competition – with a round of 32 victory over Bekwai Youth Football Academy at Bekwai, the Porcupine had a first shot at home against Wassaman SC in the round of 16, 1:0 victory it ended.

The only Premier League clash is between Wa All Stars and Berekum Chelsea at the Malik Jabir Park. A big nut for the Blues to crack, after an emphatic 4:0 drabbing of defending champions Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea will be playing Wa All Stars who secured victory against Samatex SC all the way Samraboi.
