Manchester City will begin their Premier League tittle defence with a clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
A lots has changed in the last five months at Arsenal; Arsene Wenger who spent over 15 years left last season with former Sevilla boss, Unai Emery taking over as the head coach.
Pep Guardiola showered praises on Unai Emery, saying it is good for the Premier League to have a good manager like the 46 year old who won the UEFA Europa League three times in a row with Sevilla.
“He [Emery] is an excellent manager. What he achieved – three Europa Leagues in a row – is excellent. He is a good manager and it is good for the Premier League” Pep told the press.
Danny Welbeck might play in defence with Nacho Monreal, Kolasinac and Koscielny out due to injury.
- Arsenal have just two wins in the last 12 meetings with Manchester City (D5, L5).
- Manchester City could win consecutive topflight away games against Arsenal for the first time since 1936.
- The Gunners’ only defeat in their last 11 home Premier League games was a 3-0 loss to Manchester City (W8, D2).
