The Takoradi branch of Enterprise Trustees has joined forces with National Pensions Regulatory Authority(NPRA) and Social Security and National Insurance Trust(SSNIT) to organise one day workshop today aimed at educating its clients who are yet to receive their first ever lump Sum benefit in 2020.
In an exclusive interview with Spicefmonline Joseph Ampofo, Managing Director of Enterprise Trustee, said that the company has been taking contributions from its clients since 2012 and time has come for the organisation to prepare the minds of the clients who are closer to their retirement age to know about the right processes to go through toward retrieving their contributions.
“We actually started our first contributions in 2012 and come 2020 we will start paying clients who are going on retirement lump sum benefit, because for those we started with, per the law, they will no longer go to SSNIT for any Lamp Sum Payment. Base on this arrangement we have started preparing ourselves that is why we have called upon clients who are more likely to go on retirement to educate them on what to do so that by the time they get to 60 years they can receive payment in their account in within 30 days”.
He added that it was significant to bring other stakeholders such as NPRA and SSNIT on board to ensure holistic education of clients.
Clients were also urged to use all existing technologies initiated by Enterprise Trustees to know about their standings as contributors so that any discrepancies could be corrected before retirement .
