The Upper Denkyira West district assembly of the Central region now has a new district chief executive as President’s nominee for the post has been confirmed by the assembly members .

The nominee Acheampong Asiedu who was the youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party in the area polled 20 out 22 votes cast this morning at the assembly premises.

He was nominated by President Akufo-Addo after the then District Chief Executive Daniel Appianing was asked to step aside following his comment on the Major Maxwell Mahama Murder in the area .

He has pledged to do work bring meaningful development to the area including ending acts of violence in the enclave.
