Agona D/A primary school in the Ahanta West Municipality of the western region is on the verge of closing down as teachers seek transfer from the school since some unscrupulous people living in the area have turned the classrooms into a place of convenience.
Narrating the incidents to our reporter, Portia Yaa Cudjoe, the Head Teacher of the School Peter Erzah Quaw mentioned that several classrooms and desks were spilled with faecal matter, creating a while nuisance for both the school authorities and students.
According to him the incident has been recurring for months now and they have written series of letters to the District Director of Education but with no concreate solution and “steps to get a security man for the school to avert these crisis has also not materialized”, he added.
With enrolment of about seven hundred (700) students and twenty-four (24) teachers, the Head Teacher, Peter Erzah Quaw revealed to Spice News that, Agona D/A Primary School do not have a place of continence which is also a worrying situation for the school.
“We will one day suspend lessons and close down the school if the situation remainsunattended to”.
The Assembly man of the area Peter Raymond Kwofie acknowledged the severity of the problem and assure the school authority of the assembly’s quest to address the situation once and for all.
