Head coach of the Les Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon, Charles Kamdem includes fresh faces in his final 18 squad for Saturday, January 27, clash against Ghana’s Black Princesses.
The named 18-player squad left Cameroon for Accra, Ghana via Abidjan, Ivory Coast on the morning of Wednesday 24 January.
The first leg of the final world cup qualifier ended one all at Yaounde, Priscilla Adubea rounded up the tie with a 52nd minute equaliser to see the game 1:1.
Cameroon is buoyed to edge past Ghana to qualify for their maiden U-20 Women’s World Cup with the addition of 3 new faces in the squad that lost to Ghana a fortnight ago.
To achieve this historic feat, coach Kamdem has called in a couple of new players to strengthen the squad.
Viviane Mefire Peka, Olga Marina Ngo Esse and Maximine Raissa Ebenye Ebongue are the new additions coach Kamede has added to the squad looking to outwit Coach Yusif Basigi at his own backyard.
Alexandra Takounda of the 2016 Under-17 World Cup fame is headlining the team as a surprise call-up.
Takounda has found the back of the net for Cameroon in every U-20 qualifiers match so far.
Ghana will be seeking a fifth straight world cup appearance at the Cape Coast Stadium at 3:00 local time whiles Cameroon seeks to qualify for the mundial for the first time.
The winner will join the winner of the Nigeria versus South Africa tie in booking a ticket to the U-20 World Cup set for August in France.
