Head of Sports for Beach 105.5 FM, Ekow Essilfie has opined that the current players of the Black Stars are not good enough and are bunch of average players who give average performance.
The Black Stars were knocked out by the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia from the round of 16 of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt after losing 5-4 on penalty kicks.
Reacting to the exit which was Ghana’s worse ever performance in the Nations Cup since 2006, Ekow Essilfie said on Adzekyee Mu Ns3m (Which airs from 7:00am to 10:00am each weekday on Spice 91.9 FM) with Brother Nat that though the head coach of the team is not technically good, the players are also substandard and were not up for the challenge.
“Our players are substandard players; even the Partey that we hail for his impressive performance at club side has been average for the national team. The players were not even committed to play for the national team, on the face value they were all saying it was time to end the 37 year trophy drought, but deep down in them, there were issues.
