The Reds dictated the pace of the game usually via the promptings of midfield duo Jackson Owusu and Emmanuel Gyamfi. A product of the early dominance was a 16 minute strike from newly acquired Saddick Adams connecting Kwame Boahene’s pass beautifully, his first in the competition.

The visitors reacted and Obeng Junior, who was the brightest spot for Nea Salamina pulled parity for the visitors in the 32ndminute.

Kotoko in the second half struggled to find the back of the net despite enjoying possession, however the Porcupine Warriors had to rely on a late penalty call by center referee Nuhu Liman after a foul on striker Yakubu Mohammed in the 18-yard box.
