Andre Dede Ayew has now usurped Asamoah Gyan as Ghana’s top scorer in the history of the African Cup of Nations with 9 goals.
The Swansea City midfielder scored Ghana’s equalizer in their game against Benin in the ongoing AFCON 2019 on the 10th minutes to set the record
Dede had his debut national team call up on 7 August 2007; he was called up by Claude Le Roy and made his debut appearance against Senegal on 21 August. On 11 January 2008, Ayew was named to the Ghana squad to play in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored his first AFCON goal against Burkina in the 2010 AFCON at Angola.
The former West Ham United midfielder now have 15 goals in 76 games for the national team
