Mr Panford, in an interview with Spice News, said the Shama District has lots of prospects in terms of lands for development which could speed up the economic fortunes of the area.

“I am also talking with the leadership of the Ghana Ports and harbours Authority to see the possibility of a port in Shama to support the industries that are to spring up in the area”.

“As I speak, the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority has began conducting feasibility studies along the coast of Shama in earnest preparation of the free zones enclave.

Mr Panford said the realization of the project could contribute significantly to employment and wealth creation for the constituents and the country.
