The Western Regional Minister Kobina Okyere Darko Mensah has encouraged the youth in the region to remain focus on their goals in life endeavor to create sustainable jobs for themselves since the private sector has been touted as the “engine of growth.”
on his part, the youth must take skill training seriously alongside formal education and think towards solving one of our numerous societal problems in order to employ themselves instead of thinking of working of getting a white color job which is even none existent.
The minister was addressing beneficiaries of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in the Western Region at the conference hall of the Innovative Community of Developers Environment (ICODE) in Takoradi.
According to the Minister, 38 entrepreneurs in the western region has received interest free and collateral free loans ranging from GH¢10,000 to GH¢100,000 from the NEIP.
100 startup entrepreneurs he mentioned has also gotten business support needed to help manage their business and expand them in a bid to create jobs.
“It is the vision of the Nana Addo led administration to empower the youth in this country to do something for themselves and support entrepreneurs to do well in their field of business to grow the Ghanaian economy for future generation.”
Kobina Okyere Darko Mensah entreated the youth to endeavor to take good advantage of the opportunities the government has made available for them for their personal growth and the benefits of the nation.
NEIP is one of the flagship policy initiatives of the Nana Addo led government with the primary objective of providing an integrated national support to start-ups and small businesses.
