The host of Spice 91.9 FM’s morning show “Adzekye Mu Nsem”, Emmanuel Quaye popularly called Brother Nat has weighed into the call by some Ghanaians for the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to transfer the Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe and reassign CID Boss for gross mishandling of the Takoradi Kidnapping saga which has been lingering on for almost 11 months now.
There has been enormous public out cry on both social and traditional media for some heads to roll within our security agencies since news of kidnapping starting trickling in from the Western Regions Twin-City (Sekondi-Takoradi).
The first reported kidnapping case in Takoradi was in August 17, 2018 while the other two was in December 14 and 21, 2018 involving three young girls identified as Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruth Love Quayson and Pricilla Mantebea Koranchie respectively.
The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in a press conference held in Accra told reporters that they have discovered the whereabouts of three girls kidnapped last year at Takoradi and are closer to bringing them home and appealed to the families of the victims to “keep on keeping on.”
Two months after this statement the CID Boss on Accra based Atinkah TV stated that she was misunderstood by Ghanaians when she said “we know where the girls are.”She then explained that she only sought to encouraged the family members of the Kidnapped girls as well as give Ghanaians the assurance that the Ghana Police Service is working hard to rescue the girls after a reputable media giant in Ghana Daily Guide published that the three Takoradi Kidnapped girls have been rescued and are in Accra undergoing some kind of medicals which all turned out to be false.
According to Bro Nat, the leadership of this country has woefully failed the citizens of this country since the security of it citizenry is practically not the primary concern of the government but wining trophies.
“We are in this country, when Black Stars Captaincy position became an issue the president called all parties involved the following day to resolve the issue in the name of building a uniformed team to win AFCON trophy for Ghana but three of your human resource got missing about 11 months and we’ve not heard either the President, nor his Vice not to talk of our MP’s or our Chief’s.”
According to Bro Nat we cannot continue to think that we are safe in the hands of these politicians and their compatriots. “We must be thinking of how to improve on our personal security and that of our family members,” he added.
“Mr President, please transfer the Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe and reassign the CID boss Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah because I am sure she can perform better in other filed within the Police instead of keeping her at the CID.”
He however mentioned that members of the ruling NPP must be the first pressure group to mount reasonably pressure on the government to find the girls since their name will always be mentioned anytime anywhere this subject is discussed as the party in power when this kidnapping issues happened.
“As for the opposition NDC if there are waiting till 2020 to score political gains from these happenings then are joking because Ghanaians are wild awake this time not allow any politician to toil with our conscience anymore.”
