COCOABOD is promoting the establishment of Cooperative’s among cocoa farmers in the country to ensure effective distribution of subsidised fertilizers and support for the cocoa farmer.
‘KO 3Y3LE’ Cooperative Union formed in close collaboration with COCOABOD is to assist cocoa farmers in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region with the provision of fertilizers to the farmers and to provide experts who will assist the farmers to adopt the right farming practices that would yield great harvest.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Regional Manager of COCOBOD Mr. Emmanuel Anokye, mention that government will from this month cut down some cocoa trees infested with black pods disease.
He added affected farmers will be supported by COCOBAD with some seedlings and fertilizers help them to bounce back to business.
The elected Chairperson for the ‘KO 3Y3LE’ Cooperative Union, Mrs Joyce Dapaah pleaded with authorities to fix deplorable roads in cocoa growing areas to enable farmers transport their farm produce to urban centres.
