W/R: Nana Toku unseats Big Aidoo as regional chairman for NDC

With an overwhelming 123 votes difference Nana Kojo Toku, a formal chairman who staged a come back with a team of “Red Devils” have unseated incumbent chair, Michael Aidoo known in public life as “Big Aidoo” at a keenly contested regional elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held at Sefwi – Datano in the Western Region.

Chairman Elect, Nana Kojo Toku polled 469 votes whiles defeated Michael Aidoo had 346 of the total 820 valid votes cast.

After suffering a humongous defeat from Big Aidoo in a regional delegates conference prior to the 2012 elections, Nana Toku sort to come and salvage the party in the western region since the NDC party’s abismal preformance in the 2016 general elections.

Lamenting on his come back to Spicefmonline, Nana Toku mentioned that, between 2008 and 2012 he amassed eitghteen parliamentary seats for the NDC in the Western Region and increased the vote of the party as well.

“Today, what does the NDC have to show in the western region; all my achievements have been sunked by my successor – Michael Aidoo. Losing eight of the seats to the New Patriotic Party in the 2016 general elections is not a joke at all”, he added.

Nana Kojo Toku was full of praise to the deligates for deciding to bring him back and also voting for his team members to ensure that team carry out the discussed victory agenda.

“The restoration of political power to the NDC party here in the western region and in Ghana at large in the 2020 general elections has just begun” he said.
