Kwesimintsim: Five notorious robbers busted

The Kwesimintsim District Police Command, in the Western Region has arrested five notorious robbers. The arrest was carried out jointly by the Police and neighborhood watch in the Assakae, Race Course and Anaji communities on Sunday July 9th 2018, after series of reports from their victims reached the police station.

The robbers; Joseph Ackah, alias Lil Wayne, 24 year, Frederick Ghartey 23 years, Kojo Baah 21 years, Kwabena Anokye 28 years and Simon Aidoo, were arrested with some stolen properties including two plasma televisions, satellite decoders, Nikon camera and kit, techno tablets, kettles, among others.

They were lined up by in front of the Kwesimintsim police station this morning for identification.

though one other suspect whose name has been given as Dadzie is currently on the run, the five suspected robbers have been arraigned before court.

Superintendent Peter Lennax Aidoo, who is the Kwesimintsim District Police Command, told pressmen the five guys arrested have been on their radar for far to long due to their criminal notoriety.

“They are notorious criminals that have been harassing residents in my jurisdiction-especially Anaji, Kwesimintsim and its environs”.

Superintendent Aidoo charged that citizens volunteer information for the arrest of criminals in their communities. He emphasized that safety and security must be a shared responsibility, adding such volunteerism is central to their operations.

“It’s the intelligence that we have been gathering that has help us arrest some of these guys. Like I always say, security is a shared responsibility. All that we need from the public is information so that we act on them”, he noted.|Ghana
