The Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has abolished the issuance of building permits for temporal structures in unauthorized areas within the twin city.
Metropolitan Chief Executive for the STMA, Anthony Kobina Kurentsir Sam made this disclosure at the assemblies 1st Quarter Town Hall Meeting held on Tuesday April 9, 2018 at Sekondi Youth Center.
The mayor explains the decision is motivated by a need to secure spaces for state development within the metropolis.
He however cautioned residents to rescind attempts at seeking any permit for temporal settlement of structures in the metropolis, warning that persons who flaunt this directive, risk having their structures demolished without any compensation.
