The District Chief Executive for Wassa East, Wilson Arthur has intimated he is hale and hearty, despite his failure to complete his independence day speech.

Mr Arthur in a short note, assuring his constituents and well wishers  refute claims he has been hospitalised after “collapsing” whilst delivering an address to commemorate the 61st Independence Day at the District capital, Daboase.

The DCE narrated “almost at the end of the speech I felt too weak so I stopped reading the address and requested my security Aide of the day to help me back to my chair”

He avers the prompt action by the medical team to the situation seemed to have created the impression the situation was dire.

“The intensity of the medical teams response and attention from that point might have created that impression that I was in critical medical situation”

Meanwhile, Mr. Arthur is full of praise for being saved by the Almighty

Below is a statement copied from his Facebook page this morning

This is to thank everyone for your well wishes and concern in response to a story that broke yesterday that I collapsed in the course of delivering the Presidents 61st Indenpenence Day Address at Daboase.

The picture painted is grossly exaggerated. The fact was that almost at the end of the speech I felt too weak so I stopped reading the address and requested my security Aide of the day to help me back to my chair. The intensity of the medical teams response and attention from that point might have created that impression that I was in critical medical situation. But thanks to GOD it was far from that and I am well.

I must put on record that it was the Medics on duty who took me to Ahmydiia Hospital led by the District Director of Health – Dr Sunderland. I was discharged shortly after an infusion.

I must state emphatically, “I did not collapse on the floor!”

I am grateful for all your prayers and good wishes towards me and my family. God bless and protect all of us.

I am well.

“Thank you!”
