Division One League side, Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club are working on raising GHC 50,000.00 to renovate their neglected club house to serve the original purpose.
According to the club’s management member, Paa Kwesi on Spice 91.9 FM Evening Sports with Abaidoo Abednego, revealed that the purpose of the club house has been neglected due to the current state of the club house. The team though not financially sound, but use the little they[Hasaacas] have to spend on certain things which the club house can serve same purpose when properly structured.
“We’ve been spending a lot on hotel bills, even playing our 15 games at home last season, we spent about GHC 800.00 on accommodation on every home game which isn’t a small amount when added.
The best thing now is to renovate the club house and use it to serve the original purpose it was intended for[camping for home game and serving as accommodation for players” Paa Kwesi said.
When asked about the substantial amount needed to undertake the project Paa Kwesi said – “It will cost us GHC 50,000.00 to renovate this project, we’ve to change the whole roof, buy wood, change the water closet toilet and others.
“We will plead with the club’s supporters to come to our aid, Sekondi Hasaacas is not owned by anyone, it’s for the Sekondi-Takoradi people, so the supporters of the club are needed at this instance, they should all come on board.
“We’ve written to some cooperate bodies and individuals in the region to come to our aid. And will urge our supporters, most importantly should go into their pocket to ensure this is achieved” He added.
