The Regional Commander, DCOP Kwesi Mensah Duku in a briefing at the office of Rapid Deployment Force (RDF), in Takoradi this morning mentioned the police owes the public a responsibility to protect lives and properties at all times but during such festive season the police only increase visibility services in the communities.
He bemoaned the spate of crime and other social vices in the region is on the rise and that demands some action.
He indicated, all personnel of the service both administrative and operational units have been withdrawn to augment field and patrol officers.
Accordingly, security checkpoints across the region have also been increased to check drug trafficking, ruthless driving and other crimes on our roads.
DCOP Duku cautioned against the sale and use of fire crackers. He intimated the ban on such items is in force and is strictly enforced.
He also charged personnel of the service to demonstrate utmost discipline in their work in dealings with the public.
He however warned any office who flaunts the code and ethics of the service will surely be sanctioned.
